What are we up to?
The Arts Undergraduate Theatre Society (AUTS) is an independently run student group operating out of McGill University. With a long and vibrant history of performing hit musicals such as West Side Story, Rent, and Sweeney Todd, AUTS has cemented its position as an integral part of the arts community at McGill and in Montreal as a whole. Our productions have the goal of appealing to the general public while challenging our artists to strengthen their skills accordingly. We are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and dynamic creative experience for our members, which in turn creates awe-inspiring performances for our audiences.
"The visual design and technical components of the show were nearly flawless, from the stunning lighting effects to the quirky and enticing set design."
-The Concordian (Rent)
"Through a constant delivery of humour, an effective technical background, impressive instrumentation, and expert singing and dancing, AUTS’ production is a lively and cheerful rendition of the Sondheim classic."
-The McGill Tribune (Into the Woods)
"This setup not only excuses, but essentially demands an all-guns-blazing approach to the performances, and AUTS’ cast and crew delivers."
-The McGill Tribune (The Drowsey Chaperone)
"The themes of adolescence and innocence were cemented beautifully by the costumes, which were crafted with a careful attention to detail."
-The Bull and Bear (West Side Story)
