● Attending every rehearsal (or coordinating an ASM to be present) to record blocking and production notes.
● Creating rehearsal notes to communicate important production information to the designers.
● Having a working understanding of the director’s concept and the ability to step in during rehearsal if the director is in need of assistance.
● Being present as a resource for actors
● Attending Executive, Creative, and Production Team meetings: the Stage Manager is a communication based role, and needs to be able to relay information between groups.

● Writing, with the ASMs, a detailed prompt book that has all relevant information to perfectly recreate the show.
● The prompt book should include: blocking, technical cues, rehearsal reports, company contact information, etc.
