The leader of the technical departments (lights, sound, sets, props, costumes) and is the main support system and resource for the technical team.
Their tasks include, but are not limited to:
● Work closely with the Production Manager to provide leadership for the production team
● Regularly meet with the technical designers of the production
● Guarantee that all designs are created on time and all necessary items are built, purchased, or rented
● Purchase all raw materials for the set build and maintain the technical budget
● Work with designers to create necessary technical drawings that can be used to build needed pieces
● Create a detailed schedule for build days, the load-in, the light hang and focus, and strike
● Be present during tech week and responsible for tech elements/designers
● Take detailed notes on all tech aspects to be given to the relevant designer, and then adjust the tech accordingly
● Hire/recruit assistants to help with all technical departments (if needed)
